HOLIDAY PROJECT STRUCTURE
Post Overview
TOPNOTCH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
HOLIDAY PLANNER
Esteemed Parent,
Given the long holiday, our overall aim is to actively engage, stimulate and challenge our pupils towards the
sustainability of relevant skills acquired during the course of the term as well as help them horn new skills as they work through a plethora of organized activities and umpteen challenges compressed for them according to their age levels/classes.
We urge you to pay particular attention to the structure and modalities of the holiday project as raising Topnotch champions involves a collective effort of the parties involved. In this case, the home and the school.
Our attention has been drawn to the activities of some of our learners on social media during vacations via their mobile devices and cartoons. Some of them gain access to ungodly sites and materials that can damage their mindset and course great mental health. Excess of cartoons and social media can be disruptive to our children’s morals and development. Vigilance is the watchword! Censor is key!
Proverb 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The time is now, discipline is not spanking or shouting. It is your ability to intentionally parent your child/children by creating structures and patterns that would enhance their general behaviour.
Please endeavour to follow the outlined project/assignment scheduled for your child this holiday.
We have mapped out a study guide for your child.
Check your child’s homework planner and study thoroughly.
Create a comfortable study place with table/chair and writing materials.
Make a daily routine guide/timetable with your child/children.
- Teach them the rules, ensure they clearly understand and then guide them to adhere.
- Assess work done daily to ensure that they are following through.
- Disable internet devises especially when you are not at home.
- Pay close attention to their friends and look out for uncultured behaviours.
- Set targets for them or just follow our targets judiciously.
- In addition to the above:
- Word Therapy: All our primary pupils are to study the book of Proverbs 1-31. We tagged it 31 days with the word.
- Each chapter of the book of proverbs is to be studied daily by the pupils as part of their morning devotion. It is a great book of wisdom.
- Handwriting Therapy: Pupils are to memorize any verse of their interest each day and repeatedly copy it out using a 40 leaves exercise book. This activity would help them keep track of their handwriting.
- Parents are encouraged to buy a 40 leaves exercise book for their child as well as guide them to have sufficient practice writing cursively.
- Assessment Criteria: Upon resumption, they are expected to submit the above together with all homework given. This would form part of their term 3 assessment.
- Finally continue to pray...
